Those were the bad old days! I prefer to remember the fun I have the next day!
Living for the thrill soon becomes tiresome Dear. Not to mention the pain and shame that can come of a night of so called fun these days.
Nope I'd much rather have less "fun" and more life expectancy thanks!

I don't know...I remember when I was young I went to a lot of good parties and had a great time. The next morning wasn't fun, but I was in pain then, so then it was less effective of a thrill in the morning. Fortunately, it was my youth and I got over that. My life is still pretty adventurous and I am two years from 50.

I guess it depends on whether you prefer sipping a fine glass of sherry and getting pleasantly buzzed, waking up the next day with no problems, or chugging vodka and getting so blitzed you have no memory of the evening thrills by the next morning, and only the hangover to remind you that you drank. Truth is life is more complex than any simple simile can ever express. And there is room for both sipping sherry and getting blitzed occassionally. William Blake say the road of excess leads to palace of wisdom, but common sense tells that everything should be taken in moderation INCLUDING moderation.

But there also those people who find intense joy in the most simple of things. I suppose those people are the ones that are truly happy.
