Depends on what country you were in. For Poland, France, and England in 1939. For Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Holland, etc. in 1940. For Russia, early 1941 and for the US Dec. 1941.

In Europe ended in May, 1945. In the Pacific, August, 1945.

The war started in 1939 and ended in 1945. The US didn't get involved until the bombing of Pearl Harbor in December of 1941.

well for the us it started on dec 9, 1941 but the actual war started in 1939. it ended in 1945
