Ummm, for those who claim its mathematically impossible, I challenge you to prove it. Seems to me, since every team plays 8 home games, and 8 away games, all it would take is for every team to go 8-0 at home and 0-8 on the road. Conferences and interdivisional play and all that have nothing to do with anything. It is entirely possible that all 32 teams could go 8-8, and the NFL would have to use its tiebreaking rules to determine playoff teams.

The NFL probably already thinks it might come to that because there has been talk of adding a 17th game that would be played internationally.

You'll have tie breakers based on head to head competition all the way down to a coin flip if the need be. The format itself for the playoffs wouldn't change.

This question has been asked before because I answered it...That is why they have divisions...To keep that from happenning...With interconference and divisional games, it is mathematically impossible for every team to go 8-8...

If it were college then the team that whines the most or the team coached by Urban Meyer will (for some reason) get the nod.

According to the rules, the playoffs would be cancelled and the team owners would then have to wrestle each other for the Lombardi Trophy.

They would use tie breaking procedures, but the statistical possibilities of that happening are almost 0.

They start to use team stats like throwing yards. Yards per game. Rushing. Rushing yard per game.
