Actually, most pets will learn their names more quickly if the name ends in a strong vowel sound...such as "ey".

well i have heard that it is not good to name your pets with similiar sounding names. because animals identifiy words by the different syllables. so if you name a a pair of dogs "smokey and Rockey" they can become confused by the "ey" sound.
so little rockey will come when you want smokey.

Sure does. It means you like baby names and use them. You would like your pets to stay very young and mostly helpless.

To be honest I have no idea at all. A name is just a name.

It is a fact that cats are more responsive to names that end in an 'eee' sound. Don't know about dogs though.
Let's see, we have Peachy, Nacho, Zeffy, Topi and Daniel.
So three end in that sound but they all show up for dinner.

If you think about it... most childrens names end in the ey sound.

Richie, bobby, mary, jenny, katy, markie, .....

So, I'd assume that using that same ending for animals means that you view your animals as "children".

i have a ferret named pooky and a cat named saddie, i also once had a rabbit named Jersey, but thats not all my pets :)
