The US borrows from whomever will lend us money to pay for wars and taxcuts. The Chinese have the largest surplus. The US has more debt than all other debtor nations on Earth combined.

You are right, since the Chinese have lowered the dollar standard by holding the loans and interest. What has happened in Europe is they are exchanging the dollar now for the Euro because it has more value. Bush has done this in 6 1/2 years too. America never collects it debts from any other Countries like Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Chinese are not communist anymore. They are right wing authoritarians.

Your analogy between communism and democracy is faulty seeing one is an economic model while the other is a government model. You can be a capitalist nation and not be a democracy - aka the PRC.

Well, it is because the countries that we have lent money to haven't bothered to pay it back as of yet. And we spend all the money financing war efforts (like saving Europe in WWI and WWII) and bailing out other countries. Hmmm. . . I wonder why we have to go to the communist countries? Maybe it is because all of the "democratic" countries and our friends owe us money, so how are they going to "lend" us money????

China seeks out investments in America, not the other way around. Get your facts straight and begin to understand the market for U.S. Treasuries.

Where have you been the last 15 years? What's been strengthening the Chinese economy is their ability to adopt a free market style economy. I'm not sure what you are specifically referring to the US borrowing money, perhaps you mean investing by the Chinese?
