A no hitter is impressive no matter how many walks you get. That being said a perfect game is far more impressive than just a no-no because the pitcher has to be perfect and the defense has to be equal to the task. Imagine last week if schilling would have finished his no hitter. the only thing that would have kept it from being a "perfect" game was his shortstop booting a routine grounder. Great thing is that sock painting blow hard didn't finish his and Verlander did. Go Tigers! Finish in '07

You don't lead off Sportscenter with a one-hitter. Sometimes to get a no-hitter or to win a ball game you pitch around hitters...so 4 walks isn't so horrible that it takes away from a no hitter. Walks are better than doubles, triples, and home runs.

I still say a no hitter regardless of the 4 walks.

A no hitter hands down

A no-hitter is more impressive. Period. Four walks, six walks, ten walks, whatever. Give me the no-hitter.

I'm seriously a fan of control pitching, being super-stingy with walks. I'd admire the one-hit/zero-walk game more. Not that I sneeze at no-hitters, but zero walks means the pitcher was REALLY on his game.

My---aren't WE picky.
Anyone who throws as hard as Verlander isn't gonna get the ball where he wants it every single time.
The fact is that he threw a no-hitter, and you or anyone else can't take that away from him!
GO TIGERS!!!!!
