That isn't THAT small - and you still have over two weeks before you are due - a baby can put on as much as a half pound per week in the last few weeks.
Don't worry - those scans aren't always accurate to the very ounce. Doctor's guesses aren't accurate either.

That's a little small, but I'm sure he will be okay. At 35 weeks and 5 days my baby measured 5 lbs 14 oz.

absolutely its normal , all babies are the same size util about 20 weeks or so thats how they can do a due date scan accurately but after 20 weeks genetics kicks in , my second son was only 5 pounds and a bit when he was born but for him that was normal im only 5"1 and my husband is asian and he is small too, so try not to worry too much besides think about the labour my little one only took 3 hrs lol
GOOD LUCK XOX

They can gain quite a bit in the last little bit. My gf was told that she was going to have a 9lb baby, hers was 6 15, so they are only guessing. You could end up with a 8 pounder for all we know. Good Luck, and dont worry to much.

It's not unusual for a child to be born that small. I know they say that a baby's normal birth weight is about 7-8 lbs, but 6lbs is still healthy. It's probably genetic.

Your baby gains a 1/2lb a week, so your baby, if you get to 40 weeks, will be about 6 1/2lbs. Anything within 5.5-10lbs is a normal range.

completely normal... besides, the predictions from ultrasounds aren't always accurate. My son was measuring 6 pounds at 34 weeks, and 5 weeks later, when he was born, weighed 7lbs 5oz. He was projected to be quite a bit bigger! but he wasn't at all. just perfect... in every way :)
