I had a smoke alarm in my hall and it would go off a few minutes after we turned on the shower. It was the change in temperature on the ceiling
from the hot water. I moved it to another room and it is fine now.

Directly over the stove is not a good position.
Ask your neighbours where there's are.
And whether they have the same problem.
It may be different if they have gas or electric.
Can you tell if it is wired in, or movable?
The wired kind your landlord has to move.
The other kind can be unscrewed or unstuck.
If it's the movable type, it contains a battery.
The lid pops open to change the battery.
You can remove the battery while cooking.
But the danger is you'll forget to replace it.
Better to relocate it away from the stove.
And on the wall, not the ceiling.

Disconnect it and move it. Move it somewhere closer to a bedroom, but away from a bathroom. You can buy products that will attach it to the wall without having to use screws. I think it is called Command. I found it at a craft store.

I had the same problem,,, Best thing to do is disconnect it before cooking and reconnect it after.... a little work but well worth it. Your life is worth the work! Wouldn't want to have a fire in the middle of the night and not have it working.

If it is not hardwired into the apt at that location (most likely not). Just move it. A better place for a smoke detector is near the bedroom.

do you have a fire station near where you live? maybe you can call them up and ask them what might cause the problem....or maybe you need to place a new battery in the smoke alarm?

it is probably just a cheap one with a battery.
Maybe just move it
Or disconnect it and buy another one to put in another place
