Take a tennis ball, make an incision, and put in some pennys or BB's and tape it up.Do 5 minutes with it and five with a regular ball and do this for about 30 minutes. Just don't start out with it make sure you warm up really good first.Plus you can do some long toss with a friend about 70 yards apart.Like I said make sure you warm up really well before or you will kill your arm.

Your first priority would be to make sure your mechanics are flawless. At age 14 you should not be worrying about strength. Play a little long toss and work on your mechanics and you'll be fine. As you go through highschool, add some aerobic weight training and rubber band work. Don't bulk up. Good luck and if you truly throw 85 mph, enjoy blowing away the competition. Throw strikes.

yes. start running. MLB pitchers run every day; you should start running 10 foul poles (run on the outfield warning track of a baseball field, foul pole to foul pole) every day. The day that you start a game, use a light jog to get loose.
A key to gaining and maintaining velocity is leg strength and using your entire body to throw a pitch, not just your arm. Find a good pitching coach to evaluate your pitching mechanics.
Finally, don't get hung up on the fastball's velocity. A pitcher's job is to FOOL (keep him off-balance) the batter and throw strikes , not always throw the ball by him. If you throw an 87 mph "ball", it does your or team no good. Throw quality strikes first, then worry about pumping the radar gun...
it does you

Wow thats pretty good for a freshman.
Are u sure its 85.. thats fast for 14??
Youll probably grow more so i would say you can end up throwing in the 90's.
In two years i went up like 8-12 mph.
Work on your rotator cuff, legs, abs, mechanics.
Also throw long toss, make sure to let it go.
Good LUCK!!!

Yep. You should keep your hands a little closer and pull your arm back even more. I think that will increase your awesome throw.

When you grow a bit your arms will get longer and your speed will increase. Work on you control for now and the speed will come.
