Yes, it normal. By doing this it will allow him to tell in a follow-up ultrasound what type of cysts it is or was. If its gone then there's nothing to worry about, but if its still there he may want to watch it a little while longer while keeping you on the pill. I know its frustrating especially when you want to get pregnant, but be patient I had to go through the same process, as a matter of fact I'm still on bc, this is my 2nd month. Good luck

The pills will create a controlled hormonal environment so they should do that. I think in most cases they are used to control endo. If you didn't have cysts before I wonder why you shouldn't just do an unmedicated cycle. But! I am not the doctor! GL

Yes, I've been in your situation before. It's normal to take BC for a cycle to help get rid of the cysts. If your just let the cysts dissolve naturally you run the risk of one of them getting bigger and rupturing--it hurts! Also, using BC just gets rid of them quicker. I usually use the Ortho Evra patch to get rid of them but any type or hormonal birth control should do it!

I would recommend the OB/GYN. I have had problems with cysts along with other female problems and I found out that in situations like this the regular doctors would recommend that the patient go to an OB/GYN.
