Do it right after you take a hot shower...makes the hair more flexible and your pores are relaxed and open. If you don't have time to take a hot shower, fill the sink with hot water and lean over it with a towel over the head and absorb the steam. Also pluck in the direction that it is growing. Sometimes at walmart you can find a pack of three little razors strictly for eyebrows...easy and you have to do it every few days but pain free.

There are two things you can do to make it less painful. First, you can take a really hot shower and pluck your eyebrows right after. This will open up your pores and the hair will come out easier. The other way to go is to take an icecube and rub it over the area right before until it gets numb. Whichever way you choose, know that the longer you do it, the less painful it will be. I started plucking my eyebrows when I was around your age and it was a little painful at first, but now (over 10 years later) it doesn't hurt at all. Another good tip is to not go too thin at first. If you do go too thin then you have to wait for your eyebrows to grow back, and this can take a while. If you do happen to over-pluck, you can use an eyeliner pencil or a soft shadow and sweep it over your eyebrows to make them look fuller. I would recommend just taking a little off the first time and then stopping and seeing how you like them for a few days. If you still think they are too big or bushy, then take off a little more. Remember that the inside edge of your eyebrow should be even with the corner of your eye. You can use a pencil, eyeliner stick or a Q-tip to measure up from the corner of your eye to see where your eyebrow should end. As for the other end (over toward your ears), that should also line up with that corner of your eye. Also, I find that if you don't have good lighting in your bathroom for plucking, the best lighting is in a car. Sit in one of your parents' cars and use the mirror on the visor. You'll be able to see little hairs a lot better that way! Best of luck! :)

I endured the pain... just coz I was too lazy to think about how to not feel pain. It isn't so bad, you get used to it after awhile.
But you could run an ice cube over the skin for a couple of minutes so it numbs the area before you start plucking. Although it's kinda complicated when it's all wet and the hair won't co-operate with the tweezer.
One way to make it less bushy is to notice the natural shape of your eyebrows and remove the access hair around it.
If all else fails get an experienced friend to do it for you.

Use icecubes to numb the pain ... rub them on your eyebrows from about a minute... use small scissors to cut long hairs and tweezers to pluck hairs that look out of place. dont pluck too much cuz you will look crazy. :-)

All i do is put ice in a bag or get an icepack, numb my eyebrow (yes it can be numb!) and pluck away!
But if your not experienced, there is probably a friend that you have that can pluck eyebrows. you don't have to be a proffesional to do it.

i've read that if you get a really warm wet cloth and put it over your eyebrows for about 10 minutes before, it should help. it also gets better with time though....when i first started plucking my eyebrows it was awful, but now i can do it and it doesn't bother me at all.

forget it, there is going to be pain, i don't pluck but a lot of girls have told me they do right after a hot shower or after rinsing their face with hot water b/c this opens the pores and make it easier to pull the hair follicle out..
umm, a tweezer is like two dollars

You can get a good brow shaping at most salons for under $15
I recommend you get this done professionally... otherwise you may end up with results you have to wait weeks to grow back in & alter.
After that, just tweeze the strays... I usually smoke some weed before I do this, but I'm sure a shot of something to drink could help... if you're underage, just grin & bear it.

1] do it right after shower so pores are open, and hair is soft
2] rub ice on brow to numb it
3] use Anbesol!
Brush all eyebrws straight up on forehead. Trim shaggy ones with nail scissor before you pluck.
See eyebrowz.com for shape, thickness, and techniques for plucking.
