Online may or may not be the wave of the future, but personally I just don't see it replacing the tried and true old fashioned methods.

You need to be active in school, local theatres, and take some acting classes. THEN you need to get a real agent. People who run websites do not know you from the girl down the street and aren't doing anything to further your career.

If you want to find a legitimate agent to represent you for commercials, TV & film go to Sag.org. Use the dropdown menu on the right labeled 'resources' and choose 'agent information'. On the next screen, on the left choose 'Find a SAG franchised agent' and follow the directions. You can look up agents all over the US, but there are higher concentrations where the work is (Los Angeles, NY, IL, FL, GA etc.)

Then you can send them your headshot, resume, and a cover letter stating that you are seeking representation and wait to see if they call you in for an interview.

Once you have an agent, they will get you the auditions, but until then you can check out actorsaccess.com. You can also see if your state has a film alliance. Sometimes they post audition information for projects filming locally. For theatre, you can go to backstage.com or http://www.actorsequity.org/castingcall/... If you find the audition on the Equity site, you still may be able to go, as long as their not taking appointments from equity actor's only :-) On backstage.com you have to pay to get all of the info, but the initial search is free and you may be able to see enough info to find out the rest on your own without paying OR you can go to your local bookstore or newsstand and look at their print publication (new every Thursday) for free.

Good luck!

Well, first, slow down and take a chill pill. You're 13!!!
First you have to figure out WHAT it is that you actually want to do. Film? Television? Stage? They're all quite different. No matter what you WANT to do, it'll probably be a good idea to join the drama club at school, take a few classes, try out for everything you can. Look for community theater auditions as well. Depending on where you live, they may be desparately in need of younger actors. Go to the library and read some books about acting. If you're gonna be GOOD, and a true actor, it's a lot of hard work. After High School, if you still want it, apply to every conservatory you can afford to, Juliard, DePaul, Carneghie-Melon, etc. Even if you don't get into those, you can either wait a year and try again, or go to a regular school and major in theater (although a B.F.A. from a conservatory is much better). At this point you will be very well-read, experienced, and know exactly what you want to do. Get an agent. This is not easy, unless you went to a REALLY good conservatory. And remember, among actors, unemployment is around 95%.

Trust me, I'm a teen too. do you really want it? are you willing to fight for the title? second, why? why do you want it so bad? to be rich? have fans? why? acting is A LOT of hard work, and if you aren't afraid of getting your hands dirty, getting piled by fans, being blind by the flashes of the cameras, or the pressure of doing everything right, all the time, growing up in front of America, under a microscope.....

Than you should go for it. but don't try to be someone your not, and don't do it just for the money.
