My 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Brougham has an "FE3" badge on the trunk. What is this meant as?

it wasa touring sedan package which included supercharger 18 gallon tank and seats designed by lear seating

FE3 or the "Iron" package was the performance package with better suspension. It's pretty common on the Olds Cutlass Calais models of the same year. Personally, I have never seen it on a Delta 88.

Do you ever have problems explaining that you own an '88 Eighty-eight? I used to have an 88 Ninety-Eight. Explaining that was a little crazy. LOL

on the 88 delta it a darth vader fe3-x model a design for olds the ground effects kit on the car and offer for 81-88 olds mainly on the cutlass
