I don't want to die before my children grow up, but at the same time I feel more comfortable with realizing that there will be an end, especially when my body and mind slowly begin to lose their faculties. So no I'm not afraid of death... eventually.

Of my own death no, of other people dying yes. I quit a job in an assisted care home for just that reason.

A 97 year old resident was prone to mini seizures and had one on my shift. One minute she was standing at the sink drying silverware, and the next minute she collapsed on the floor. She lost bladder and bowel control, and it totally freaked me out. What was even worse was that her family had her listed as a no code - do not resuscitate, when all we had to do to revive her was sit her up and rub her arms a little.

I just couldn't stay there wondering when her next fall would take her out for good.

Senseless being afraid of death. Human beings are given 120 years in the book of Genesis. Every day after this is overtime but death will surely come!

The Bible says that it is a good thing to count your years, sit down and look back at what you have achieved within the many years given to you.

You can only be afraid of death if you are blessed richly and you misuse the rare opportunity.

I personally am afraid of dying painfully. Butt if it is quick and far away no I am not really afraid because it is going to happen either way, and you just have to except that.

Yes, and no.
Living is at times far harder than dying, but dying by degrees is a bloody awful way to go. Trying fighting to stay alive for the sake of your children when all you want to do is let go and sleep. I am so very tired...

I'm afraid of dying. But don't think about it. Only think about the happiness of life like hanging out with your friends. Don't think about it. The more you don't think about it the better you are in life. Just remember that you probably have over like ten years to enjoy life. Ok well just don't think about it. PEACE

It's not exactly that I'm afraid of dying, my fear is just dying without having accomplished my true goal in life. I think that would hurt me much more than just knowing I will die. We all die no matter what but I think it hurts more if you have unfinished business.

I'm sure everyone is afraid of dying, it mostly the fear of the unknown. I am not so much afraid of dying because it's something we will all go through and it's a natural part of life. I do fear, however, the process of death, pain, loss of dignity and control of my body.

no, not in the least bit.
but I'm afraid of dying alone
and I'm afraid of hurting those I leave behind, especially because I don't want them to feel we had too little time to know each other.
