The formula for determining ERA is:

(Earned runs / Innings pitched) * Number of innings in a standard game

If your standard game is nine innings, then (1 / 3) * 9 for an ERA of 3.00

Easiest way is to look it up. There's plenty of stats databases on the web, updated daily.

Oh, calculate it?

ERA == (earned runs * 9) / innings pitched

conventionally to two decimals.
