Hi,
I am writing a paper for my intro to philosophy class, and i'm having a couple problems... it asks to 'explain how one who follows the Buddha would assist and benefit an individual to discover 'practical wisdom'.....

any advice would be greatly appreciated..

Well I suppose that it means that you have to explain how a Buddhist or just a follower of Buddha would help someone else discover "common" wisdom, which would eventually lead to wisdom at a metaphysical level.

All wisdom is practical or it is not wisdom. That is not to say that the wisdom you choose in a moment to impart to an other is success in that mind. The wisdom for that is the first wisdom you choose to act on, how to teach, so that is the first action the other sees of you, and therefor that is the first course for learning for the other. Teaching and learning are integral concepts that are not roles or social positions that some understand as student and teacher. You go to them, or you are not there.
