Yes. It has something to do with why it is we ought not to lie. It must also have the criterion of demonstration. Hence, Socrates would not have drank the hemlock, the Apology of Socrates would have never been written. And the definition of falsehood and truth would not have been established by his death. His death was a demonstration of the truth and why it is we ought not to lie. Since logically to speak loosely: a statement is said to be valid when it is impossible for its premise to be true and its conclusion false. This is also why the entire idea of the "fallacy" is so important for criterion of the "truth". Fallacy; the process by which a false English argument is proved to be true.
Example of Fallacy of the Antecedent:
Cesar is dead. .(the Antecedent) Therefore Cesar committed suicide. (Conclusion)
Analysis:
Cesar is in fact dead. Such that the Antecedent of the argument is true. But as a matter of historical fact: (the Conclusion is false;)Cesar did not committed suicide. Cesar was murdered.

I presume you mean "...have any criterion."
Yes. But truth is not necessarily immediately known even though we know how to find it. The principle which identifies falsehoods is non-contradiction. When a contradiction occurs you know something is wrong. Nature has no contradictions. Contradiction only exists as an intellectual mistake adversely affect one's life.
It is incorrect perspectives which cause the appearance of contradictions. Through this process the correct perspective can be found as falsehoods are eliminated one by one. Eventually one ends up with a great big intellectual vacuum as everything popular today is rubbish. It then becomes one's task to identify the right perspective and it is not easy when we have led a life of great intellectual deception.

that depends upon the definition of truth...actully "truth" is what people believe...you can "prove" something to people but they will not be "convinced".The "truth" is that the World is round, but everybody "knew" the Earth was flat.So "truth" has no criterion....
