People just go through phases in life I guess...Well I used to wear nothing but American Eagle and Aeropostale....I just did it because I wanted to fit in, look like everyone else and I was too afraid o be different. Now I have a different point of view. I am tired of wearing what everyone else is wearing. It isn't my style. In my opinion stores like AE, Hollister, A&F and others alike have no personal style. Do you ever realize that their clothes like barely ever change? It is like the same type of clothes all year, just altered for different seasons. And I hate the cheap designer bag knock offs that the girls carry around like Chanel totes and Coach bags. I know the Chanel totes are fake and the Coach bags are totally getting played out. Honestly, I don't find anything fashionable and original with girls wearing Hollister henleys, destroyed Abercrombie and Fitch Denim and/or Uggs/American Eagle clogs when 50% of the population at school is wearing that type of outfit,Now I pretty much want to dress more feminime, chic, and classy. Now you will see me wearing a funky and trendy dress from Forever 21, H&M, or Nordstoms. Maybe even wearing a vintage cardigan or something. I totally understand what you are saying and I am totally bored with the "typical cookie cutters" too. :-)

even the emo girls look like preppy girls and preppy girls look like goth and so on I think the same goes for the guys when I was in high school there was no emo it was considered bisexual. I graduated in 99 and girls then were very different than girls now, it is like they all want to be the same person some rich snobby bit/ch with a little dog. I do not go out of my way to be original i just am i have my own way of doing things and dressing oneday I feel grungey and just were an old beat up shirt and some holey jeans and the next day i feel like wearing some of my by south pole or rhino wear,

I don't think I look "cookie cutter" - I think a lot of people want to be with the "in" crowd and their originality gets lost......sad!

I'm original- I talk to everyone at school and I hang out with people from different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, and hate people who are close-minded and only hang out with their own crowd.

This has always been true -- not just these days.
In every generation, there are common styles that kids choose from.
Those few who don't tend to be tormented by the others for being weird.

I noticed that too. I tried to find my wife on a crowded beach but every woman looked exactly like my wife. I had to approach each one and ask her if she's my wife. After two hundred, I gave up.

I'm original because I don't subscribe to anyone else's group. Especially when I decide to not take a shower in the morning.

Blame stores like The Gap, Old Navy, etc. - their mantra is that everybody should be wearing whatever it is they are pushing this month.
