He forced the 49'ers to make a choice between him and the greatest of all time (Jerry Rice) because he couldn't stand the shadow.
He holds the single game reception record, he also averages a drop a game, well above the league average.
He acts like a selfish child who needs attention (see aforementioned Sharpie incident, the Dallas star incident, and his O.D.).
He feels the need to harass and anger his quarterbacks, but is unwilling to be coached.
He likes to spit on people.
If possible he would only show up for nationally televised games.

he did have a horrible childhood (beyond the glory has a really good episode about him if you haven't seen it)- yet managed to become successful

was told he wouldn't have the ability to be a big game player as he entered the nfl and set the record for receptions in a game and became one of a handful of wr's to catch 100 td's

He rehabbed a broken leg earlier than doctors advised and helped the eagles almost win the superbowl, but after they didn't he stated the obvious about donovan mcnabb running the worst 2 minute drill in the history of football. Realized that the eagles are notorius for not renegotiating contracts (look up any eagle who has tried) and was cut.

Then he played a year with a broken finger and led the nfl in touchdowns - helping establish tony romo as a probowler - and somehow got left off the pro-bowl roster.

maybe it's because he holds camps for at-risk youth...

i don't know - i'm gonna say that he overcame difficult odds and became successful

When he's not showboating - celebrating a touchdown on the Dallas midfield star while playing for San Francisco, the Sharpie incident, etc. - he likes to start feuds with his teammates, especially his quarterbacks. Ask Jeff Garcia, who TO called gay, or Donovan McNabb.

The reason he is a bad role model is not because he isn't a good player, which he is. I'm an eagles fan, so I may be biased, but he is a bad role model because he sits out training camp on a thirty million dollar salary and an NFC Champion team that is well respected. Oh, and did I mention he is a little prick who couldn't pass 7th grade? He's an overall dumbass, jackass, and smartass. Hope this helps.

Being a whiny loudmouth primadonna and throwing his teammates under the bus when things don't go his way.

He can't be satisfied with the amount of attention he gets. He is all about the attention which takes the focus off the game of football.

He's got an attitude problem...He thinks he's God's gift to QBs...He blames any incomplete pass on the QB, and never looks in the mirror...

He has allowed his attitude to give him a bad rep... not listening to coaches and at times being too cocky... he is still a very talented receiver.
