I'd like to add a box on my website where users can ask a question, and then that question gets sent to particular e-mail to be answered. Any scripts/widgets out there like this?

Actually there are lots of ways to accomplish this task and there are many free scripts out there that can do the job.

First, I would suggest doing a search for "free feedback form" or "free web mail form" to look at some easy to install, and free, scripts that will allow your users to easily fill-out a web page form and the contents then are emailed to you. Forms are much superior and safe then having a mailto link popup to your user.

Here's a few sites that I found that offer the script you are looking for:

This site creates the PHP script for you by simply asking you a few questions: http://www.thesitewizard.com/wizards/feedbackform.shtml

Hotscripts is another very large site with both free and sponsored scripts. Go here and scroll down past the paid scripts and you'll find a nice Feedback Form: http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Form_Processors/index.html

PHP is probably the easiest way to go even though there are some outstanding .cgi and .pl type scripts that would go into your /cgi-bin on your web server. However, .PHP scripts can be placed in the same directory where your web pages reside.

I suspect the reply ought to range for each and every person. Some, possibly, desire to have others uncover the solutions. I suspect that there are folks that have sought solutions, and located them not up to understandable, or located conflicting know-how, and desire to look others clear up matters, or give an explanation for them in a extra intestine-stage system. Also, there may be the truth that you would simply get an reply from a peer--that's so much most commonly the man or woman who can give an explanation for matters (in the event that they realize them appropriately) in a language so much with ease understood via the asker. And I actually suppose a few youngsters are utilizing this to resolve homework disorders.

There's an excellent (and free) forms designer and service at http://www.jotform.com that does exactly what you want. There, you can design a form using the online editor and either use the designed form or copy the generated html to your own website and redesign as appropriate to match the look and feel of your own pages.

Alternatively, use the free formmail script available at http://www.dtheatre.com
