I want to gift a cousin a nintendo wii that lives overseas which means I will have to travel by plane. So, I just wanted to know if it was safe and I wouldn't get the nintendo wii confiscated by security because the country I'm going to dosen't have nintendo wii released yet.

Thanks!

If is safe to travel if you have it in your luggage. You/he will have to buy a adapter for it since the wii was made for the country your in. Your cousin might have problems getting games for it as well. Each game is country region, meaning if your cousin wants a new game, you have to buy it and mail it to him. :)

You should be able to take it to another country even if it hasn't been released yet. You're not selling it in mass. The reason Lik-sang and possibly play-asia got in trouble was because they were selling it in mass quantities. You, on the other hand, is giving it as a gift.

I'm pretty sure that is legal because I know people that get movies on DVD earlier because they get them from other countrys and they don't get confiscated.

Yes you can, though you might need to get a plug/power adaptor if they are different.
