Songs as old as maybe the '60's and as late as '07.
Or anything that'll make her feel good and remember her retirement.

There's a song called To Sir with Love sung by Lulu.
Maybe you could change the words sir to the teachers name and have somebody sing it to her.

*To Sir With Love*
--------------------------
Those schoolgirl days, of telling tales and biting nails are gone,
But in my mind,
I know they will still live on and on,
But how do you thank someone, who has taken you from crayons to perfume?
It isn't easy, but I'll try,

If you wanted the sky I would write across the sky in letters,
That would soar a thousand feet high,
To Sir, with Love

The time has come,
For closing books and long last looks must end,
And as I leave,
I know that I am leaving my best friend,
A friend who taught me right from wrong,
And weak from strong,
That's a lot to learn,
What, what can I give you in return?

If you wanted the moon I would try to make a start,
But I, would rather you let me give my heart,
To Sir, with Love
------------------------------------------------------------

This Song was from The movie To Sir With Love.
Lulu plays a student in the movie and sings this song at the end to her teacher played by Sidney Poitier .

We played this song for a co-worker who retired recently... it's from the Eagles called "ALREADY GONE" !

Well, I heard some people talkin' just the other day
And they said you're gonna put me on a shelf
But let me tell ya got some news for you
And you'll soon find out it's true
And then you'll have to eat your lunch all by yourself

Cause I'm already gone, and I'm feelin strong
I will sing this vict'ry song woo-oo-oo, my my, woo-oo-oo

The letter that you wrote me made me stop and wonder why
But I guess you felt like ya had to set things right
Just remember this my girl when you look up in the sky
You could see the stars and still not see the light that's right

Cause I'm already gone, and I'm feelin strong
I will sing this vict'ry song woo-oo-oo, my my, woo-oo-oo

SOLO

Well, I know it wasn't you who held me down
Heaven knows it wasn't you who set me free
So oftentimes it happens that we live our lives in chains
And we never even know we have the key

But me I'm already gone and I'm feelin strong
I will sing this vict'ry song, Coz I'm already gone

Yes, I'm already gone, and I'm feelin strong
I will sing this vict'ry song
Coz I'm already gone
Yes, I'm already gone
Already gone (alright nighty night)
Already gone

Artist: Green Day
Album: Nimrod
Title: Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)

Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time
It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life
So take the photographs, and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it´s worth, it was worth all the while
It´s something unpredictable, but in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life.
It´s something unpredictable, but in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life.
It´s something unpredictable, but in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life

Ive been thinking lately that Rascall Flats - My Wish would make a great grad song...but it could apply in this case as well and be a great retirement song!
