run out of petrol....

i have driven ca. 500,000 miles and run out of petrol / diesel ca. 4 times. once or twice i have tried to delude myself it wasn't my fault but who was i trying to kid ?

No! But my girlfriend has and the petrol gauge on the car is somewhat economical with the truth (which is just as well, because it isn't economical with the petrol...)

Nearly but managed to make it to the petrol station running on fumes. The bloody gauge was lying it said there was a quarter of a tank when i parked up and bugger all in it when i got back in the car.

I haven't, I know someone whos petrol gauge broke, and they ran out on a 70 mph main road.

Once, had to walk 16 miles in pitch back, put my moterbike in the forest so nobody would steal it, went back the next day and woud not remember were I put it. Never could find it.

It happened 1 time. I had to run my kids to school & hubby left the car on empty. Wasn't pretty.

I was with a guy once who did and i had to wait in the car..it was late late and i have never been so scared....It took him about an hour to come back too....

That has never happened to me. I don't know why? Perhaps it's because I WATCH THE GAUGE!
