Promises, and honor. Both seem to mean nothing to most people now days.
Too many seem to think that they can promise something "on their honor" and once they have what they want, the promise gets forgotten, ignored, or just plain broken.
Like those who promise "to love, honor and cherish" only to do none of them when something they see as better comes along. Sad, because then you just can't believe in the person, their honor or their "promises".

I've got the empty nest thing going on. I've had a brady bunch of kids if you count my first marriage and my wife's. My #3 kid is going down tomorrow to join the Navy. I've got one more at home but, I don't know, it's a weird feeling. I don't want him to leave but, I want him to have the excitement that I did during my tour. Very conflicting emotions. Sucks!
