i have this same router and comcast isp - i had a hard time, my advice would be to call the 1800 # to setup, that way they can also tell you how to secure your network so others can't login tp your account - good luck!

The CD that came with it is purdy clear, just breathe slow, calm down, have a cup o' coffee or root beer nearby and be cool about it. Here's a guess, depending on your DSL folk.
Phone wire in the modem? Check. (I bet it was there already, right?)
You don't have the router power connected do ya? Well that's too soon! Disconnect it, dern it!
Load up the CD. Unhook the power from the modem. Pull the DSL cable from the modem, yep the one that was hooked to your computer. Plug it into the leftmost hole on the back of the router. Got it? Check.
(Got another, wired computer, or other wired stuff? Cable'em out, 1, 2, 3, up to 4, from the other holes on the back of the router...)
Okay, now, while yer doin' all this, watch the screen instructions from the CD, just in case the version of instructions on their CD gives you steps in a different order...anyway, at this point, you'll pretty much, plug in power to your DSL modem, then wait about 30 seconds, then plug in power to the router.
The CD configuration steps will include online registration. They'll also include printing out a page of information which includes a LONG LONG LONG key code for your router. Keep and protect that piece of paper.
Then, you NEED that long long long key code for your router so's you can sign on from the wireless computer. Go to the wireless communicating computer, pick up on the name of the router (which you gave it while configuring during the CD steps above), and you'll have to type in that danged long long long key code to become a member of the router network. Now yer wireless computer is a "good buddy".
In the future, when for any reason the router or modem or land line connection goes south for a moment, you may have to reset all the stuff by powering down both the modem and the router, then powering on the modem, waiting 30 seconds, and powering on the router, and running the piece of software that came with the router to "heal all wounds".

I have a Dell, and I had the same problem too. Then I called Linksys and they said that one of the wires (i guess yellow) is supposed to be connected to the DSL box, NOT the computer. If this doesn't work, call Linksys for help.

You could go on Linksys site and see if they have an online manual.
