if you want one, and can look after it and take the healing process (eg not being able to talk or eat for a few weeks) then sure. it might be a problem if you're still at school/college, so make sure it won't be an issue with teachers, parents etc.

they have plus and down sides - i love mine, it's fun, and i like the way it looks. but generally you don't keep them for life - they can damage your teeth by chipping them with the metal bar. but they generally heal really quickly if you change your mind

people may or may not judge you on it - some people assume you've just got it for sexual reasons, while others will be more open-minded

so bearing in mind those things - if you still want them, go for it.

youll probably end up taking it out
i got mine done by a friend who was a piercer when i was 14
i thought it would be cool
im 18 now, and i never wear it, and it never heals
only the bottom heals sometimes, but you can just pop the ring back thru....
its not worth chipping your teeth though
i model, and it chipped my tooth- you cant tell
but when i move my tongue over my tooth i can feel it

you might want to wait longer and think about it

If you want it you should get it. You should know though that most people (myself included) end up just taking it out. It does get in the way sometimes, and if you have it for any length of time it will chip a tooth.

Well, my friend recently got hers done about 6 months ago and it's really cool,
BUT the downside is she talks kind of with a lisp now...
Maybe it's just her, but it's kind of weird...

But if you guys really want to do it, then I'd say go for it. :]
