He has played more game's than Damon. Here are the stat's that are better than Damon's,hits , doubles, triples, homeruns, RBI's, Total Base's, Walks, Stolen Bases, On Base Percentage, Slugging Percentage, And finally his Batting Average. So tell me why Sizemore is getting shunned from the allstar every single one of Sizemores stats are better. Is it because Damon is a Yankee most likely yes, Would Damon get a second look if he was still on the royals HEEELLLL No. Now Grady Sizemore Is a hell of a better player then Damon why not in the front running for the allstar CF voting. Couldn't Tell you but i have one speculation Steinbrenner must have paid some money or something. But thats all i have to say about. Thanks for reading and tell me your thoughts.

It's not just Yankee fans. There are many casual fans who just don't know the entire league like crazy fans such as myself would. The average fan has no idea that B.J. Upton is having a huge year down in Tampa Bay at 2B. They probably haven't heard of most the 2B on the ballot, so they vote for the Yankee or Red Sox they've maybe heard of. This goes extra for Damon who used to be in Boston and is now a Yankee, all kinds of fans have heard of him so they mark his name. Whether its all star games, reality shows, polls, or politics you'll soon see that most things decided by average Americans are complete nonsense.
If you're an Indians fan, you should be even more pissed about A.L. catcher voting. Victor Martinez is having a HUGE year and is 5th! I understand Pudge is the sentimental pick and Posada's having a killer year too, but Victor should atleast be top 3 in that case.

I agree with you about Damon only getting the votes because he's on the Spanks. The only Spank that deserves a vote is A-rod, not Damon, not Jeter, not Abreu, not Rivera, not Cano. I think Damon still has the fanbase that stayed with him when he was with the Red Sox. Damon is a below average Defender (not great range nor anything more than a little girl's throwing arm), he's also been hurt several times this year. Both Damon and Sizemore won't start, and I doubt they'll make they AL Allstar team with much better players available (i.e. Guerrero, Ichiro, Ordonez, Hunter, Ramirez, etc.). P.S. check the updated AL balloting, Sizemore is about 70k votes AHEAD of Damon.

Because Damon is a NY player and there are a lot more people in NY who watch the Yankees than people in Cleveland who watch the Indians. Plus, although Sizemore is starting to be more well known, to the common fan Damon has more name recognition. Give Sizemore a couple more years and he'll get more respect from the common fan.

All-Star game voting isn't exactly who's the best. It's about who's the most popular. As are most elections. But Sizemore really is better, but being a Yankee, Damon's winning the voting.

All star voting is based on popularity voting. Think who has the bigger name? Sizemore or Damon. I hear next to nothing about Sizemore, and more about Damon.
If you take a no name person and put him next to a person whose been in the news about something, which name are people most likely to recognize, and vote for.

It's the casual fan that picks the all-star team and Damon has more name recognition than Sizemore. But you know something, don't worry about a thing because Sizemore will be an all-star for many years.

People watch Sportscenter, Sportscenter loves the Yankees, Johnny Damon plays for the Yankees. It's like one big math equation. It isn't fashionable for anyone to like Cleveland, besides those of us that live here in Ohio. Any big name, playing for the big teams, will play in the All Star game, and that is a shame.

Dude, it's a popularity contest. In addition to that you can go one line and vote as many times as you like by creating as many accounts as you like.
Damon has more votes because the state of New York has more people than the state of Ohio. Lots more.
Mets fans hooked up their players as well.

Simple. Damon plays for a large market team and they encourage their fans to vote for the Yankees on the ballet.

It's a popularity contest.
He's on the Yankees. People assume just because he's on the Yankees, he's All-Star calliber. Fans usually vote for their own team, too, and the Yankees have a lot of fans.
Plus, he has played through injury this season (not very well, but give him credit for trying). I would atleast vote for him once because I respect a player who plays through injury.
