Solids is anything that is not liquid!
So if you have never given your child anything solid at this stage to need to start by pureeing everything. I started my son on solids at 4 months. He would only have 1-2 tablespoons of various pureed vegies. He loved them! Gradually they will eat more and more and you can start putting meat in there and pureeing that too. A lot of the baby foods at the supermarket are fine, just check the ingredients and make sure there are no bad preservatives in there. (You would be surprised what people are allowed to sell these days)
As for regular milk, you should only feed your baby breast milk or formula until they are one year old. You can be giving her a drink of water too with her meals.

Anything that's not a liquid is a solid (or a gas, but that doesn't figure into this discussion). That includes baby food purees, finger foods, and table foods. At 12 months old your doctor will tell you whether or not to start cow's milk, before that point it does not have the correct balance of nutrients and there's a higher risk for developing an allergy.

Yep, baby food is considered a solid. As far as starting regular milk, you're not supposed to do that until the baby is around 1 year old because their stomachs don't really properly digest whole milk that early.

Solids means anything other than formula or breastmilk. So baby food, baby cereals, table food, etc. are all solids. Milk should not be started until 12 months.

Yes, baby food is a solid. I didn't really give my kids regular milk until they were a year old, though.
