You are a young woman at 16/17 until about 21. 22 you start morphing into a woman, and 23 and up you start aging and looking like a "woman". 23 is when u start feeling like a woman ( i believe). But, if u get married younger or have kids, u are forced to grow up faster. Sex does not make u feel like a woman, contrary to popular belief.

By 15 you start to gain maturity which is the defining factor between children and adults. However some people develop maturity quicker than others. I know from personal experience that when your a young teen you think you know it all and you think your invincible but with age you realize your just ignorant. The best thing to do is realize right now that you will never stop learning everything you need to know. When you take on that mind set you start becoming a woman. It has nothing to do with sex and boys, I don't care what any idiot girl tells you. In fact your more mature if you get your head out of your *** and realize that there are way more important things in life than sex and boys. Especially when your still developing breasts for Christs sake. get your priorities straight, listen to your mother and keep an open mind.

It's generational ages 20-35; many women see themselves as male and bitter is not the word. Its her upbringing by a single mother, you don't need a man mentality. And the age of "out the closet" an alternative to a lonely night is lesbian activity. In other words men are not out in front anymore he's slowly being put on the back burning. Bitter; not hardly....

When I was 13, almost 14 I remember that I found guys sexually attractive (as much as I do today), but it might have been earlier and I can't remember. It depends who you are. We're definitely not a 'woman' when we start finding guys sexually attractive - we're still not fully mature mentally or physically. When we start being 'sexuall active' (with ourselves or others...) is totally up to us - it can be any time during our teens or after. We can find guys sexually attractive without wanting to be in a relationship with any of them, or without wanting to be in a sexual relationship with any of them.

I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman
I used to think
I had the answers to everything
But, now I know
That life doesn't always
Go my way, yeah
It feels like I'm caught in the middle
That's when I realized
I'm not a girl
Not yet a woman
All I need is time
A moment that is mine
While I'm in between
I'm not a girl
There is no need to protect me
It's time that I
Learn to face up to this
On my own
I've seen much more than I know now
So, don't tell me to shut my eyes
I'm not a girl (I'm not a girl not yet a woman)
Not yet a woman (when I find the woman in me)
All I need is time
A moment that is mine
While I'm in between
I'm not a girl
But if you look at me closely
You will see it in my eyes
This girl will always find
Her way
(I'm not a girl)
I'm not a girl
Don't tell me what to believe
(Not yet a woman)
I'm just trying to find the woman in me, yeah
(All I need is time)
Ohhh, all I need is time that's mine
While I'm in between
I'm not a girl
(Not a girl, Not yet a woman)
Not yet a woman
(I find the woman in me)
Not now
All I need is time (ohhh, all I need is time that's mine)
A moment that is mine (that's mine)
While I'm in between
I'm not a girl
Ohhhh
Not yet a woman

Womanhood is not exactly determined by sexual maturity. It is determined by self-sufficiency and self-determination. For example, to be a "woman" and no longer a "girl", one must be able to SUPPORT oneself AND a baby if sexually active, not just be able to make one. Womanhood is an honorable state of mind and character, not a state of gonads.

The concept of "man" and "woman" is more abstract than just the onset of puberty...
But it would probably be safe to say that around the later teenage years one could be called a "young woman" with confidence.

If you are referring to puberty, girls can start it at anywhere from 10-17 years old.
