hello so I have an HP Pavilion DV9000t and i was having problems with a buzzing under my keyboard finally HP told me to update my BIOS and disable the CPU C4 function on it to get rid of this sound ( and it did! or well It not loud anymore) so I was wondering if there is any damage or something bad will happen to my laptop by disabling this function or will it lower my laptops life? please thank you in advance

C0= Full power
C1= Auto halt
C2= Stop Clock
C3= Sleep
C4= Deep Sleep
Deep C4 = Deeper sleep state on Core Duo.

Absolutely nothing bad will happen to your laptop. It only loses the ability to go on deep sleep to conserve battery power.

No you're fine without it.

Doesn't HP's service stink though. I have an HP and whenever I have problems there runaround drives me INSANE!!!
