I was driving Home last night from work when my car started making a humming noise then I was unable to get to speeds of 10 MPH then the car just stopped and when I pulled the hood up the engine was veryy hot from only 4 mins of Driving. After I started it again couldnt get past 1500 RPMs and the battery started to die out. Also I Had a leaking water pump that I was about to get fixed on Thursday.
Could the water pump died out and what damage possibly happened to the engine?
Any Suggestions on what could have happened??

If you have a bad water pump, if it is leaking you do then for one should not have been driving it, but that is in the past. First get it replaced then see if it runs. If not you are probably looking at a huge expense such as warped heads, blown head gaskets, or cracked block which will require a new engine.

Cars do not get super hot from 4 minutes of driving. If it still turns over do a compression check on all 8 cylinders. When a car gets super hot, the heads do get warped, blown head gasgets, or piston rings lose their temper. All of this could be the reason the engine will not run. You can shop around at your local wrecking yard for a used engine with a guarantee for much less than a $1000. Check ebaymotors online too if you need an engine. Engine replacement does not cost $5,000. Don't let that guy scare you. I have drove cars too with leaks, but I keep an eye on the coolant level.

Your risking a $5,000 engine by not having that car towed to a shop immediately!

Possibly warped the heads or block, escpecially if its a 6 cyl.
