A fact about Rent on Broadway...Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp, the original Rodger and Mark are returning for a six weeks.

Rent is also the seventh longest running Broadway show.

It was rumored for awhile that since Larson and Roger Bart (Desperate Housewives, The Producers, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown) were best of friends, Larson wanted really badly for Roger Bart to be in the show. According to the rumor, he courted his friend by naming Roger after his friend Roger Bart.

Jonathon Larson died right before the musical debut. Anthony Rapp who played Mark in the original Broadway cast was gay.
Idina Menzel (Maureen) and Taye Diggs (Benny) met while working on Rent and fell in love. They are married.

the guy who played collins on the broadway show worked with jonathan lasrson (the guy who wrote it) in a restraunt as a waiter before the show got started and while Larson was writing the script.
