I am 6 weeks pregnant and not feeling great. I seem to make it through the day ok....just some fatigue and occasional queziness. The problem comes once I get home from work and finally slow down. I start feeling very nauseous, uncomfortable, and extremely weak. I know most people get nauseous, but the timing seems odd. I also haven't been able to sleep well for about a week. It's like I just can't get comfortable. Anyone experience similar things? Thanks for your help!

Its common to feel much worse at the end of the day than at the beginning. When you finally give your body permission to relax you start to notice how bad you might be feeling! I found to avoid feeling nauseous (for mild nausea), never have an empty stomach. Try eating a small snack before you come home from work and it might help to tide you over until dinner. Your body is going through a lot producing a baby and producing more blood (up to 50% more blood in your system when you're pregnant!). Don't be afraid to have a nap after work to catch your sleep whenever you can.

Good luck!

The timing is not odd, don't worry... nothing about it is odd.
Pregnancy takes no prisioners... it will throw nausea at you anytime it wants. And fatigue too. Whenevers clever.
It can last only a few weeks for some women and the whole pregnancy for others.
I had no morning sickness or nausea with my first baby, and now I'm 11 wks pregnant with baby two and it just wont stop.
The best advice I can eat saltine crackers when you feel queazey and to rest as much as possible. As far as comfort, you're in the stage where you're getting bigger than your regular clothes, not huge but to where theyre uncomfortable, and too small for maternity clothes. My advice is to wear smaller maternity stuff or windpants and tshirts. At night, if you have trouble sleeping, put a pillow inbetween your legs and the edge of a pillow just under your ribcage so your tummy is lifted a big and not pressed against the matress. If you're tired, it isn't because you're a wuss, it's because you're body is going through all sorts of turmoil. It's telling you to slow down so listen.
You'll be fine. Hang in there.

1] eat small meals every 3 hours, to keep blood sugar regulated. Be sure to have a snack in middle of the afternoon.
2] carry hard candies, in case a meal is late. Eat some sweet cereal before you get up to pee, for morning blood sugar.
3] take a short [ 30-60"] nap when you get home. Eat a light dinner, relax, and have a small snack such as yogurt or cheese/crackers or 1/2 peanut butter sandwich
4] avoid fried, sauced, or spicy food this trimester, even when you feel good
5] invest in a pregnancy pillow or body pillow, to keep you more comfortable.
Some people are sick in the morning, some the evening, some all the time.

yes this is normal and every time is different. It should go away after the first trimester if not you ob should be able to give you some vitamins that will help. It is morning sickness it just don't come in the morning. lol and you will get your sleep habits back if not more and try to get as much rest as possible before the baby gets here. The sleep paterns change alot after thier here.

Sure did, I had "night sickness" instead of morning. Also, I had insomnia for the the first 8 weeks or so. The good news: It gets better. I'm 23 weeks now and feel great!
Congrats!
Very Best Wishes!

I am now in my second trimester. Sleep on your left side, drink LOTS of water, keep salt to a minimum get the book what to expect while expecting. It saved my life, it will save yours. Its only 12 dollars at walmart. Good Luck FYI get up slowly, weather its from a chair, couch or bed. Best Wishes

Yup, that's all totally normal. Didn't anyone tell you morning sickness is really all day sickness! Most women outgrow morning sickness by 12 weeks. Hope you do to. Try preggo pops and saltine crackers. That's all that worked for me (and even that was minimal comfort!) Good luck!

I have the same problem. What sucks the most about it is that you finally get to relax and spend time with your man, and you don't feel up to doing anything. Even relaxing can be a burden. To the mommy above, Preggo Pops (or something like that) are suckers and lozenges that you can get at Babys R Us. They help ward off nausea. I like them. :)

My 1st trimester sucked!! I was tired, moody, sick to my stomach w/trowing up and didn't sleep well. I'm 16 weeks now and slowly feeling better. A little nausea still but not nearly as bad, thank God.

Very normal. You should try to make sure you always have something in your stomach to stave off the nausea. At the end of the day, you probably haven't eaten in a while and that's probably why you are feeling so sick.
