I'm going with Beatles, solely on diversity of music.
So many of the Beach Boys songs were the same sound. The Beatles went from "I Want to Hold Your Hand" to "I am the Walrus", One of the trippies songs EVER.
Brian Wilson was greatly influenced by the Beatles, especially Paul on the Beach Boy's "Pet Sounds". The same went for the Beatles, they are both legendary groups, but I'm definitely going with the Beatles.

I think the correct answer is The Beach Boys "then" the Beatles as in chronological order . They are both as good as it gets.
