vertex is at (0,0) since (y-0)² = 12(x-0), and the 12 is 4 times the focal length. so, since the parabola is horizontal, opening right, focus is at (3,0).

y^2 = 4px

12 = 4p
p = 3

the focus is at (3,0)

y^2=12x
y^2 = 2px so p = 6
The focus is at (p/2,0) = (3,0)
