Kudos to the first answerer who did NOT help you cheat. Thumbs down to the second.

Your presentation is to be in YOUR words, not his. But guess what? He could be wrong (and I won't tell you!) so you better do your own research!

You'll have to change the wordingt into your way of saying it.

1: Originally the germans had no goal, just help the italian army out of a jam. The goal then became two fold. Tie up british resources and capture egypt. This would give them access to the Indian Ocean and control over the Mediterreanian Sea.

2: Tactics for the germans were to strike fast and use the armoured units to advance and make initial contact. Some artillery support and have the infantry come up fast behind the armoured to capture everything. Air support was used extensively for close support of the army. Another part of the battle tactics was to not let the enemy rest and regroup. The forward units were to keep advancing as far as possible with available supplies.

Only place they changed was in the battle for Tobruk where the germans laid seige. Basically they had to as the british had all the approaches covered rather well with artillery and machine guns.

British tactics were more along the lines of both armoured and infantry attacking at the same time. The armoured divisions were a little more spread out than the germans (who concentrated) making the tanks more vulnerable to the lower quality german tanks and antitank guns. They changed this for el alamein.

3: British managed to utilize air support to pound german supply convoys. British opened up more than one attack point there by splitting german defensive units. British managed to gain control of the air robbing the germans of vitial recon info. Further the german and itialian units were low on supplies, low on ammo and could not maintain an effective defence for very long.

4: With new armour, aircraft and new infantry units the british were able to keep going after the battle. Instead of stopping and regrouping, the british already had a bigger plan of action and kept going. This idea and the fact that the british managed to keep supply lines for germans under constant attack changed the war in the desert. It made the germans reroute equipment to africa that were meant for other operations.
