type it into your graphing calculator, then use 2nd window and view the graph's table.

or

y = -(b)/2(a)

-(10)/2(1)

-10/2

-5 = y

then substitute that for X in the problem to get the y coordinate of the vertex!

y = (x² + 10x + 25) - 25 + 22
y = (x + 5)² - 3
Vertex (- 5 ,- 3)
