I get B by using cross multiplication 35/10 = 42/x then 35x = 420 then x =12

direct proportion is constant ratio, so

mass/stretch = constant

35/10 = 42/x
7/2 = 42/x
1/2 = 6/x
x = 12 cm.

42x = 35(10)

42 x = 350

x = 8.3
