When I was discharges in 82 I left some money in an account there, they kept me aware of my account for years then i moved to the west coast and never heard from them again. I tried to contact them this past year and found that they closed that office but I do not know how to get in touch with them to find out what happened to the money that was left there. please help solve this riddle for me

If it had been an active account, it probably would have been transferred to the main office in that city or the nearest main office.

But banks and other companies are required by the state to turn over abandoned, unclaimed, or otherwise undeliverable money to the state after a certain amount of time, usually 3-5 years. Contact your state's comptroller or treasury department to see if they have your money. Many states have this information online for you to search.

You money doesn't go anywhere, it was never PHYSICALLY located at the branch. The records have probably been at the main office all along. Contact ANY branch of the credit union and they can find your records or put you in touch with the department that can.
