It would depend on what the age group & budget is. A pig roast would be nice. You could also have limbo contest to see how low you can go. Grass skirts on the tables. for that matter grass skirts for the guests with coconut bras for the girls. leis, tropical music, kareoke would be fun. Fruity drinks would be nice-pina coladas, strawberry daq's (They have some without alchohol). Fake palm trees, fire pits finger foods would be excellent. Look online for ideas for food. I hope these ideas work for you. Go to the local party store for decorations. HAVE FUN

i lived in hawaii for a long time so let me see...

you can get some lei (yes males wear lei, it's not a necklace) or 'grass' (it's not real grass, at least not on the mainland), listen to hawaii music (check at the library or music store or on line). make a tropical fruit salad. see if you can actually find some poi.

gp straight to birthdaypartyideas.com. i just went to IE and typed in hawaiian birthday party ideas. some one posted a note about the fun their daughter had with her hawaiian birthday party.

birthdayinabox.com is where they got their invitations.

there are a lot of stores that sell inflatable palm trees and other hawaiian related accessories for parties.

see if you can find papermart in your area. good luck and aloha.

it would be nice to give 'shaka' to your friends as they come or as they leave. it is a greeting you give by holding down the two middle fingers and with the pinky, the finger next to the thumb and the thumb up, move your hand back and forth a bit. as you do that ask 'hey, bra, how's it?"

www.birthdayexpress.com is a good place to start. They offer things like decorations and extras including limbos and the drink ideas. They offer decorated glasses in the shape of coconuts and even have leis and many other choices for games and ideas. Oreiental Express is also a good place to look. I love getting the catalogs every month just to see the new products and ideas for parties.
