If by that you mean a bunch of MLB players conspiring to throw ballgames, I don't see it happening. They would have nothing to gain. In 1919 ballplayers, especially those who played for the notoriously cheap Charles Cominsky, made salaries that were nothing out of the ordinary. Almost every player had to hold an off-season job just to feed his family. The 1919 Black Sox did what they did for one reason: money. Nowadays players don't have that worry. Oh sure, one or two might find themselves in financial dire straits because they were foolish, but by and large these guys make too much money to risk it all just for a bunch of gamblers.

Throwing a World Series? No. But the owners back in 1919 took a blind eye to betting. They most certainly knew it was occurring and to the degree their players were involved. Taking performance enhancing substances? Yes. When all of this goes through the wash, I will be more interested in what the owners were doing while this was raging and not who is found to have juiced.

No, those guys were underpaid by their owner Charles Comiskey. That team was said to be the best ever, so those ballplayers were severely underpaid. So, those guys had to find a way to make some extra cash, and they probably wanted to get back at Comiskey.

So, with all the money players make now, I don't see who would risk ending their career when they're already millionaires.

Pete Rose answered that question. Baseball is fortunate that Rose got caught before Game 7 of a World Series. He was not going to reform on his own.
