Bet you didn't know this: If your remote control for your tv dosen't seem to be working you can use an Am radio or digital camera to see if it is sending out an infrared signal.

> With an AM radio:
Tune the radio station to a nonbroadcasting frequency. Point the remote control towards it, push any button and listen. If the sound from the radio flutters, it is receiving the remote control's infrared single.

> With a camera: Point the camera towards the remote, push any button and look through the camera. If the infrared light appears through the camera, the romote control is working.

Got a new lcd tv the other day and reading the book I found this and said 'Well theres something I didn't know'.. so it kinda fits in with your question.. 20 points?

A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.

After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.

Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.

I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.

I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.

If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.

I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.

Love and blessings

Your brother

You can really 'know' nothing. You are only using outside 'knowledge' to tell you what you are and what you are doing. Anything other than technical mechanical data is hindering your ability to live naturally. The very desire for more 'knowledge' was put there in you by the same thing that is telling you that there must be 'something' to know. The most use full knowledge is that which can help your body survive. Here is something you don't know; what you are. Find that and find life.

If you build a pyramid of Champaign glasses 1000 feet high, you can pull the middle glass out and it won't fall.

Useful, because if you try it, you'll learn not to trust what everyone tells you, but you won't mind, because you'd have fun.

Oh, yeah, and your pants are on backwards.

Dear Surfer Soul,
I have learned that if a man has both feet firmly planted on the ground, he will have one hell of a time getting his pants off.

The most important muscles in the body are the ones that attach to the spine. This is your core muscles. You loose strength in your spine/core muscles, you are in trouble.

The Meaning of Life. A lot of people answer it as awaiting death. But is there a death? No. Death is simply the lack of life. So...the meaning of life....here it is through my perspective.

Have you ever seen someone standing against a wall with their head down and arms crossed? (Or something similar to that). Have you? And if you have...had you ever went up to that person and said hello? And if you have done that...have you ever asked the person ''Hey, what's the matter?" Have you?
90% people would answer No to all these questions..., but you know what, deep down, all 100% people will also know that this is what they should have done.
Have you ever, even for the littlest thing, put a smile on a crying face? If you have....then you know....to understand my answer...would be quite simple.

Have you ever just sat atop a tree watching the sun dive behind the horizon and letting all your day’s worries just was away with it? Have you?

Have you ever just looked from a mountain and yelled something just to hear it echo back to you?

Have you ever just put on running shoes and take a run outside just 'cause?

Have you ever removed your shoes, spread your arms, and dance in the rain? Have you?

Have you ever screamed at the top of your lungs in a residential area?

Have you ever observed a tiny creature and felt that it could understand you?

Have you ever really just sat down on white puffy snow and tried to eat the snowflakes that fall from the sky?

Have you ever just sung a song for no reason, just to cheer someone up?

Have you?
Have you?
Have you?
Because if you haven't, then I greatly feel sorry for you, because doing all this....just living like it was your last day on earth and putting smiles on other faces...is the true meaning of life.

Go on. Do at least on of the things I've mentioned on this answer of mine. Trust me; you'll realize why I've said that it is the true meaning of life.

Ah yes, another question like this one. I get it asked every single day. It kind of drives me crazy. You know....life is so short....but we spend it asking questions with answers that are so far from us. Still, I shall tell you why I belive in God.

I, Cameo DiLain, have no friends. At elementry and middle school, I used to try and find some friends. I used to. And when I realized that...you know what...fine, fine if I don't have any friends. Fine if I'm a 'loner'.
I started sitting in places where I was all alone and no one could see me. I started to read. I started to love reading. Then, one day...I started to keep a journal. A journal of Life Thoughts.
As I would sit in alone on the green grass...I'd look up at the skies and the clouds. The grass and the flowers. The insects and the birds. I started writing poems and positve thoughts about life. It didn't take me long before I realized what perspective I was looking at life through. A perspective that completely changed my point of view of things. A perspective of beauty. I started to realized beauty in the littlest things. I found my purpose in life. I realized how much I wanted to put smiles on those faces that were full of sadness or wet with tears.

Then, one day, I looked up at the sky. I smiled. I always used to believe in God...but that was the time I realized why I did. As I was looking up at the sky and smiling....I knew why I had been a 'loner'. Because if I hadn't had been without any friends...I wouldn't have realized my purpose for this world, I wouldn't have relaized beauty,a nd most of all....I, now, have friends....that no one, I repeat, no one in this world has. Like those beautiful flowers, and those wonderful insects, and those swift birds, and those blue skies, and that emerald green grass...and....God.
I believe in him....because he fulfilled everything that was lacking. I say...that God is simply the fulfillment of things that lack. I love Him. I talk to Him everyday. He talks to me. Do you know how? Through the brisk movement of the grass. Through the clouds and skies that swiflty sway. Throught the flowers that bloom into beauty. Throuhg the silence that holds music. Through...simply...the perspective of beauty.

I once read that trying to explain God is like asking a fish to describe the water it swims in.

This is a very complicated question. You see, everyone has a different opinion.

Do I believe? Yes...in my own freakish way. But there are alot of people who question Him. They say 'If God created everything, then why did he create evil? why is there disease, rape, crimes, world hunger, war, etc?'

this is my opinion....

What is cold?

There is no such thing as cold. Cold is simply our description for something lacking warmth.

What is darkness?

There is no such thing as darkness. Darkness is only what we call a lack of light.

What is evil?

There is no such thing as evil. Evil is what i call an absence of the Lord.

You see, He cannot control everything, though many people think he can. He gives us little nudges and pushes in the right direction. It is our choice to follow the advice He gives us. It is also our choice to do our own thing and forget about Him.
