I have a difficult time find good authors. My favorite authors are Dean Koontz and James Patterson. I like just basic thriller/mystery fiction novels. Any suggestions?

I really enjoy Dean Koontz and Patterson as well, I'd recommend Jack Kerley, he's only written three novels that I know of so far: Bone Collectors, the Hundreth man, and Garden of Vipers.

Some of my favorite authors are Michael Connelly. He does a great cop series. Sue Grafton and Janet Evanovich both have excellent series with strong and funny females leads. Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta series is so eeriely good, as is Kathy Reiches Temperance Brennan series. Another one of my favorite authors is Linda Barnes. And if you like a little romance thrown in to the mix of a good suspense story Tami Hoag is great! Hope those help, and happy reading.

How about adding a little humor to the mix? Try Carl Hiaasen or Christopher Moore. Both are hilarious.

Or try Michael Connelly or Daniel Silva. Both are wonderful and a step up from Patterson.

If you like reading non-fiction, about what goes on nowadays - I recommend these two -

1) "Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader"
written by Bradley K. Martin

2) "Rogue Regime"
written by Jasper Becker

These two well-written books give an insight about the North Korean Government.

Fiction?

Try all the books written by Clive Cussler.

The hero is Dirk Pitt, with his sidekick Al Giordino. These are well-written.

Try some Robin Cook. He's a great author, although he's more along the lines of sci-fi thriller than horror thriller.

You might like Michael Connelly. He's written some very good police procedural mysteries. Some of his titles are:

The Black Ice
The Concrete Blonde
Angel's Flight
Echo Park

Also pretty good at writing mysteries is Jonathan Kellerman. Some of his books are:

Dr. Death
Bad Love
The Murder Book
Rage

Good luck and happy reading! :-)

Yes! i have a great author I'm reading right now.
Janet Evanovich- She writes novels that are packed with action, psycho killers, and romance. i LOVE the books, and there are great characters. i read her 9th book in the series, it was 320 pages long and i read it in a week because i couldn't stop. (I'm a really slow reader!) chose the Stephanie plum series.

enjoy!
