I cannot but look in horror and despair at some of the questions posted in the "Society and Culture" forum. There are people slugging each other off on their skin colour or ethnicity. There is the eternal battle between Christian and Non-Christian and religion versus science. Are the people asking really wanting to know what others think, or are they just voicing out their opinions? Is this intolerance shown here reflective of todays reality?

I use the intolerance as an opportunity to inform others about tolerance. I hope the nasty posters will listen, but I wouldn't bet money on it. My true audience is the people who are sitting on the fence and trying to decide which side to be on. Ignore the insults of the ugly and serve the ones who wish to change.

There is nothing new under the Sun. And what people call new was around from times of old.
All is Vanity and vexation of spirit. Feeding the Ego!
All the things people do to make themselves feel better. Feeling sorry for themselves. Acting bigger than they are. And pointing the finger at others. Though they "think" these things will make them feel better. In reality. When they behave that way toward others. It only makes them feel more like CHIT!

Not at all. Society and Culture (actually ALL of Y!A) is not a true representation of real life. Not by a long shot. Here on the Internet people become bold by the anonymity of their computer so they say a whole bunch on nonsense that they would never say to someones face.

I agree with you - its really sick. When I'm on here I dont know whether to answer them or ignore them but I end up answering them just to put a different point of view across for people to read.

I think people are voicing their opinions rather than asking others for theirs. I think since 911 racism seem s to have become almost trendy among the uneducated

They're all about 13 years old and just want to get people stirred up. These zit faced kids have no friends or they wouldn't be on here all day long. I'm old, so I have an excuse for being here.
Do not despair, thoughtful one.

It is a little disturbing, but it is definitely an issue that needs addressed. There are a lot of people that have negative attitudes and feelings about different cultures. There is no place for it as far as I'm concerned, but they issues do need to be addressed.

It make me sad and little scared at the direction the human race seems to be going. Then I see something great and full of hope and think, Maybe ,just maybe, we have a chance.
