Other than getting rid of Bettman there's nothing that hockey needs. Its a great game and if you want to watch, watch and if you don't want to thats fine with me. We don't need to grow the game any more.
Up here in Canada we love the game for its own sake and don't care at all about the TV ratings. We aren't worried in the slightest that the game will dissappear - it won't. You could destroy every TV set in Canada and we would still love the game. I think you overly business minded Americans are missing the point.

One thing they need to do, is figure a way to get back on the big time TV market. Versus is a nice channel, but seriously, if the NHL wants people to watch, they need to get back with ESPN or something like that.
Second of all, they need to fire Gary Bettman, he is a moron and does not know how to promote the sport. Fans of teams show up to games, I went to come Hurricanes games this past season, and it's a hard ticket to get, the problem is TV ratings, that's what they need to worry about, and Bettman is not the man for that.
