Dussera is "Nava Rathri" in Tamil Nadu and some other parts of South India! Saraswathy, goddess of learning is specially worshipped in that festive season, and Durga Pooja is done! In Mysore and generally in Karnataka, Dussera is a big festival of lights and colours and dance! In North India, Durga Pooja is also the season for RamLeela! Mainly Durga is worshipped in that festive season, and there is also 'aayudh pooja' to invoke blessings for the warrior class, and generally for all professionals, along with seekers of learning and students!

Well, the Indians celebrates Dasara. Even though I'm an Indian but I hate this festival. Huge idols made of inflammable products are burned. Its a waste of time and in these days our primary focus is to stop Global Warming. This festival creates enormous pollution in the atmosphere and we must think of stopping these kind of festivals.
