It would almost certainly have picked it up if there were twins. There is always a chance that it was wrong, but internal scans tend to be pretty accurate because they go a lot closer, and because there is a lot more space in your womb earlier in pregnancy it is much easier to see what is actually there

i can't imagine why anyone would have a scan at 5 1/2 weeks but there is so much medical interference these days i don't know why i'm surprised...
but internal scans are usually more accurate although this early on it all might be a bit difficult to distinguish
enjoy your pregnancy and don't let those doctors interfere too much!

I HAVE LOST MY BABY BUT FOR ALL YOU NO IT ALLS I HAD A SCAN AT 5 WEEKS 3 DAYS COZ I WAS BLEEDING AND THEY DID SEE HEART BEAT

at 5 weeks its very unlikely to even see one baby, much less two. Wait awhile to think about twins!!

did you see a heart beating if so one or two your doctor scanning you would have told you if they saw two IF they could see the heart beat(S)

your doctor usually would know... you will get another ultrasound later in a few more weeks....but you tend to show really early with twins
