Yes, humanity has been to the moon, we brought back rocks, which, by the way, would have been harder and more costly to fake than actually going up there and fetching one.

We haven't been back since because when the Saturn V rocket, the last rocket NASA ever built that could reach the escape velocity, was decommissioned, and NASA has not seen fit to replace it. We can no longer use the Saturn V- we do not hand the infrastructure to construct or launch one, the launch pads having been converted for use with the Space Shuttle, and there are no longer any vendors who can supply the 1960s parts required to build one.

The moon walkings ended the Space Race, since no other goal was within Cold War-era technology, and since then the funding and national desire to make significant progress further into space has diminished.

It's not a question of technology, it's a question of funds. Apollo cost $24 billion in 1969 dollars, and all of that was from the good ol' American taxpayers. While NASA viewed Apollo as the beginning of a continued space program leading to a fleet of space stations, lunar colonies and manned Mars flights by the 1980s, and built it accordingly, the public at large, and hence the congressmen who allocated funds, viewed Apollo as the race to beat the Russians to the Moon and demonstrate the superiority of the US over the USSR. They considered Apollo 11 the end of the race, and therefore the end of the project. No-one was willing to give NASA the money to continue the project past Apollo 17, so they stopped.

Since then, no-one has been willing to fund lunar missions until now. NASA's funding is not just a blank cheque: they are given money and told what they may spend it on. Give them the funds to go back to the Moon and they can, and that is what is planned now, with Project Constellation.

So yes, men walked on the Moon back in 1969. The fact that they haven't been back since 1972 is no more suspicious than the fact we haven't got a supersonic passenger jet any more, despite the success of Concorde.

So you're one of those skeptics dumb enough to be taken in by the so-called film "documentary" in which only the narrator actually says anything about the Moon landing as a hoax. Funny, it shows up almost FORTY YEARS after the fact, trying to make something out of nothing, and you help it succeed.

Well, I've got some swampland down in Florida that I want to sell you as a new subdivision.

To answer your last question first, as expensive manned Moon missions were and are, what's the motivation? To amuse and entertain young folks like you, to prove over and over and over and over again that the US technology can do it? Isn't 6 successful missions and 24 astronauts enough?

Get a clue. Robots are way cheaper because they don't have to have air, water, food, sleep or change their underwear, if you get my drift. And we have a lot more to learn from planets with atmosphere and maybe water, and maybe even evidence of life, past or present. The Moon doesn't offer much of any evidence from the mass of samples we brought back.

If the US didn't do the deed, then why didn't the Russians expose the US? Why not? Because they darned well we had done it. Radio voice signals were tracked coming from the lunar surface, as was telemetry? Gee whiz, I wish hopeless people would read all of history before swallowing the hoax garbage, hook, line and sinker. Someone's trying to line their own pockets at your expense.

Oh, yeah, I was a college engineering student back then, and I went to the campus and listened to the transmissions through amatuer equipment we set up and AIMED AT THE MOON.

I see this question come up just about every stinking day and I wish we had a list of frequently asked naive questions. This one would easily top the list.

Cause the Soviets gave up the race. And after the first landing, the American people didn't care. The moon landings were less to do with scientific discoveries and more to do with up staging the USSR(Pinko Commies, as they were known back then) Now if Al Qada ever decides to send suicide bombers to the moon, we'll be the first ones to set up a green zone there, till then a stay at the Moon Hilton will be in all of our dreams.

Maybe the Chinese will give the US a run..

Some sure, and a few no. For illustration, the melanoma conspiracy theorists that consider there's a treatment that the gov is hiding to make extra benefit. I do NOT consider that. I have had melanoma two times, and at the same time I am now not officially medically trained, I have performed plenty of study. NONE of the choice remedies have any evidence at the back of them. In truth, some of the case reports the trade remedies furnish, have been persons taking conventional treatment even as. I fully grasp why persons consider that. I imply, first and major, psychologically, persons want any person or whatever in charge for unhealthy matters, and its effortless in charge the gov. It may be effortless to come back to fake causal relationships. People take chemo and radiation and spot how ill it made them believe. Then check out an alernate treatment and spot how so much bigger it made them believe. Well, plenty of the alt therapies are well at treating the aspect results, however none of them deal with the melanoma. And so far as the greed factor... Not even near. Yes, pharmacuticals are grasping, however as an alternative of maintaining again a treatment, they are going to cost such a lot for a treatment that almost all persons cant manage to pay for it. I had a bone marrow transplant that's the viable treatment for my melanoma and a few different hematological and automobile immune cancers and sicknesses. That bone marrow transplant fee greater than the relaxation of my combinded cure over two distinct analysis. And, I am on lifestyles lengthy treatment in view that of it. And, considering the Medicare and Medicaid has paid for all of my cure and social defense has paid for all my dwelling expenditures in view that my first analysis close to four years in the past, the gov is LOOSING cash on me and the cure that generally cured me. We dont have remedies for a few factors. First, there are a few hundred distinct forms of melanoma. Most persons don't fully grasp that, and consider the change is effortlessly wherein it's placed. And in view that such a lot persons simply name melanoma... breast melanoma or lung melanoma as an alternative of the scientific phrases for the distinct cancers, it's effortless to consider that. But, we nonetheless dont fully grasp why melanoma is. We have plenty of hyperlinks, however the ones are correlational best. We dont recognize why it occurs. If you dont recognize what the obstacle is, how are you able to repair it? And we nonetheless can not realize a unmarried melanoma mobile. If you cant realize a unmarried melanoma mobile, you cant name someone cured. Thats we they name it remission. For someone to have a hidden treatment, actually thousands of persons could need to had been cured via it. I dont consider thousands of persons can hold that a mystery. I do consider *a few* of the 911 conspiracy theories. That is whatever that we will be able to certainly not recognize the complete reality approximately. I do NOT consider it used to be an within process that our gov deliberate, nevertheless it used to be taken abilities of. I totally consider the persons within the aircraft that crashed in a subject attempted to take it down, however its too convienent that they landed in a subject. And, I do consider that the aircraft that hit the pentegon used to be shot down earlier than it hit to slash harm. There is controversial evidence, however we will be able to certainly not recognize for definite. I have plenty of sympathy for the households although. I are aware of it need to be rough on them while persons say the matters they are saying to them.

YES, HUMANS HAVE WALKED ON THE MOON! It is NOT a point of belief but a point of fact. We haven't done it for a long time because it costs a lot and the political focus has changed from scientific pursuits to other topics....
