I'm an angel. I'm taking care of my brother who has mental disabilities, and is receivng SSI. Why am I taking care of him instead of our father? Because, our father has been kicking him out of the house off and on for the past couple of years, while he steals his check!! This past year, he's stayed with myself and my husband, and for the whole year he was here, my dad did not once mention, "oh, by the way, I know you all are struggling down there with your 3 kids and trying to feed and clothe your grown brother who is mentally disabled. Here, why don't you just transfer his SSI case to the state that you all are in, so that he can have access to his money, and you guys won't have to spend all of yours on keeping food in the house." We just recently found out about this, so I've transferred my brother's case down here, with his permission, and now he lives with us permanently.
