Well the answer to each of the three can become a short book you know. Let me still try though:
See, Linux is an operating system like your windows or Mac OS. Unlike them though its an open source OS which means you can use/distribute (and even compile it) for free.
Like you have MS office and many other applications for windows you have a set of applications for linux too.
An application meant for 1 OS will not work for another one. This means that MS Office will normally not work for linux and vice versa.
So if you know what an OS is then we're cool otherwise, I have few links below to help you understand more.
HTML is a scripting language in which most of the web sites are made. It is OD independant and hence, is used since, a web page essentially needs to open on ANY computer not just the ones running windows or Mac OS or Linux for that matter.
PHP similarly is a scripting language for web pages which need to have dynamic content on the page.
- The major difference between PHP and HTML is that:
HTML web pages are static content and PHP is dynamic content.
- HTML is understood by your web browser like Internet explorer and Mozilla Firefox but a PHP needs to be first processed by a PHP engine.
There ane infinite resources on the net you can choose from to learn understand linux/HTML and PHP.
Also, Linux is available in many distributions or flavors as to say. Some common ones are: Suse Linux, Fedora Core and ubuntu (the fastest growing linux community).

HTML -> Hyper Text Markup Language
Used in almost every website. Displays websites using codes/tags. HTML is not dynamic but can be used with other languages to create dynamic content such as javascript calendars etc. HTML is the most basic "programming" language and calling it a programming language itself is debatable.
PHP -> PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor
PHP is extremely dynamic offering a wide range of possibilities for websites. It is a commonly used language for many interactive website such as forums and community boards and is commonly used in content management systems. PHP can use HTML and other languages to add extra features to the pages displayed. This language is easiest to learn after obtaining a basic knowledge of HTML and javascript.
And finally....
Linux is a free open-source operating system based on Unix. Linux was originally created by Linus Torvalds with the assistance of developers from around the globe. Linux was developed under the GNU General Public License and the source code is freely available to everyone.
To learn HTML try: www.24htmlcafe.com
or: http://w3schools.com/html/default.asp
For PHP try: http://w3schools.com/php/default.asp
And SQL (used with PHP): http://w3schools.com/sql/default.asp
Also I would recomend: www.tutorialized.com
Goodluck.

The answer, my friend, is Google and Wikipedia. If you enter each of those terms as search words you'll find a plethora of information on them. Yes, Google and Wikipedia are free, internet access usually isn't.
There are also hundreds of books on each topic.
To answer your questions:
Linux: Is a free operating system. Learning Linux will take weeks or years depending how deeply you want to go.
HTML: Is the most commonly used web page design language. This will take a day or two to get you started, months to become proficient.
PHP: Is a server side execution programming language for active content web pages. This will take days if you've programmed before. Months if you haven't.
